Soon after the resignation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar from his post, the acrimony between him and RJD Chief Lalu Prasad reached its flashpoint as the latter accused the CM of being a ”murder accused” and also of playing into the hands of the BJP and RSS.
Prasad told newspersons here that an FIR was registered against Mr Kumar at Pandarak police station in Nalanda district on November 16, 1991 in a murder case. Mr Prasad said Mr Kumar had been booked under Sections 141, 148, 149, 302 and 307 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Prasad said Mr Kumar had also been booked under Arms Act, adding he could be sentenced to life imprisonment and could be even awarded capital punishment if convicted in the murder case.
” The main reason behind Mr Kumar`s resignation is his involvement in the murder case, ” Prasad remarked while questioning his principle of zero tolerance against corruption.
Prasad said Mr Kumar had already entered into a pact with the BJP and the RSS before he resigned from the post as Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted to greet Kumar soon after his resignation.
Providing a formula to keep the grand alliance afloat, Prasad said a meeting of MLAs from the RJD, JD (U) and Congress should be convened so that the grand alliance could elect its new leader in place of Mr Kumar.
He said his son and Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav (facing CBI charges) would not be a part of any such new government of the grand alliance.
