The BJP President Amit Shah Tuesday asked Odisha Chief Minister Naveen
Patnaik to mend ways while addressing here  the  “Mahasangram” rally
being organized by party’s Odisha Unit to launch the state-wide
campaign to oust the BJD Government.
However Shah seemed  lacking the precision and expected blow hot
attitude in his attack against Naveen Patnaik much to the resentment
of the party cadre. Most part of  his address was devoted against the
Congress particularly the “Rahul Baba”.
This was the first public rally in Odisha  being addressed by Shah
after becoming the National President of the BJP. But turned to be a
whimper.
Slamming the 14 year old Naveen led BJD Government , Shah said
corruption has become a way of life in the state . It is time Odisha
joined the list of fast growing states by voting for a BJP government
Stating that the Naveen regime has utterly failed to bring desired
development in the stae  during the 14 years, he urged the people of
the state to join the development campaign initiated by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi  and make Odisha No.1 State free from poverty and
corruption.
“ It is time Odisha joins the list of fast growing states by voting
for a BJP government”, he said adding the achievement and progress  of
BJP ruled states like MP, Chhtisgarah etc are the indicators.
Ridiculing the development claim of the BJD Government , he said,
Just 14% of people in the state have access to safe drinking water
while only 22% have toilets at their homes after 14 years of BJD rule.
There are of course hospitals, but no doctors; schools, but no
teachers.
Regretting that the state remains underdeveloped despite its rich
natural resources , he said Odisha which helps the progress of the
nation, has all the potential to become the No.1 state in the country.
The development of the state can only be possible under BJP rule , he
asserted.
Shah said that to ensure rapid development of  mineral rich states,
Narendra Modi government had taken a decision to undertake auction of
mines and to give back the revenue generated from minerals to the
concerned states.  Jharkhand and Odisha are going to be the biggest
beneficiaries of the decsion,” he said.
Reacting to the oft repeated  remark of  AICC vice-President  Rahul
Gandhi asking for report card of six months of  NDA Government, Shah
dared  “Rahul Baba” to first give a report card on the 60 years of
Congress rule . “Your family ruled the country for sixty long years,
he reminded Rahul.
Stating  that the faulty UPA policies had pushed the nation into
inflation, high prices and low and slow growth, Shah said the
turnaround had started with the coming to power of the Modi government
at the Centre. Petrol and diesel prices have come down by as much Rs
10 while food inflation has reduced significantly, he said asserting,
there has been monthly reduction of at least Rs.1500 on food bill of
every family under the new dispensation.
Lambasting the Congress  for “shamelessly” questioning the Coast Guard
operation in foiling Pak sponsored possible terror attack on mid
Arabian sea, the BJP chief wanted to know whether Congress would like
to do politics and fight election in Pakistan. Congress should
introspect for questioning the Government on national security, he
said.
Among others Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, Union Petroleum
Minister Dharmendra Pradhan , State party president KV Singh Deo,
senior leader Bijoy Mohapatra Biswabhushan Harichandan addressed the
rally.
