In a dramatic turn of politics ,Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced his resignation today evening. Nitish met the Governor K.N.Tripathy in Raj Bjawan and tender his resignation leaving window for a possible tie up with BJP.
After his resignation, Nitish said that he tried his best to keep the “Mahagathbandhan’ in tact . But it not possible to work any more as Chief Minister in the present circumstances.
Referring to Tejaswi Yadav, Nitish said that he had not asked any body’s resignation , only sought Lalu Yadav and alliance partner Rastriya Janataq Dal to explain on the issue of allegations of corruption against Tejaswi and to act upon . But they did not explain, he clarifed.
“I won’t compromise on corruption’, Nitish asertd stating that he had no option but to quit as Chief minister.
“ I worked for interest of Bihar and also resigned for Bihar’s interest”, he said.
However, Nitish refused to comment on the question, whether to form next government with the support of BJP.
On the other hand , the Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the move of Nitish Kumar on the stand against corruption.
