Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi today charged RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s family with earning huge properties and bulk of it between 2004 and 2009 when Lalu Prasad was the Railway Minister in UPA-I.
“In 12 years Lalu Prasad’s family has earned at least 125 properties in Patna and other parts of India including Delhi and Kolkata. Eighty per cent of these properties were earned between 2004 and 2009 when Lalu Prasad was Railway Minister,” Modi told a press conference here.
He said some properties were also bought between 2000 and 2005 when Rabri Devi was the Chief Minister of Bihar for the second time. “There were different modus operandi and they also made use of at least seven shell companies,” the former Deputy Chief Minister said.
He alleged that properties worth crores were purchased through shell companies in cities like Patna, Kolkata, Delhi and Aurangabad (in Bihar).
Modi demanded that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar take action against those involved in these cases and dismiss such corrupt leaders and Lalu Prasad’s sons from his Cabinet.
