Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that the government will approach the Supreme Court against the National Green Tribunal order of banning vehicles older than 15 years from running in New Delhi.
Talking to media on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi Tuesday Gadkari said, government will tell the court that it wants pollution to be controlled but it needs more time.
He said, Centre will seek additional six months time from the court so that a policy can be put in place and the scheme is implemented to check air pollution. He urged the Delhi Government to explore possibilities of using Bio CNG. He added that government is seeking possibility of converting old diesel vehicles to CNG.
