CRPF to adopt new strategies to counter Maoists in Odisha : DG Prakash Mishra

Director General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Prakash Mishra said, there will be a change of strategies to counter the Maoist threat in Odisha.

Addressing media persons Tuesday at Bhubaneswar, after reviewing Maoist situation in south Odisha, Mishra said, CRPF camps will be withdrawn from areas where the Maoist activities have declined and redeployed in areas where the red rebels are more active.

He said, Maoist activities in Odisha are negligible except Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Sunabeda and Nuapada districts. Mishra also informed that CRPF camps will be withdrawn from Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Ganjam districts in Odisha where the Maoist activities have come down drastically.
