GoM working on resolving IT issues pertaining to GST held its first meeting

The Group of Ministers working on resolving IT related issues pertaining to GST, headed by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi held its first meeting in Bengaluru Saturday.

Talking to media persons after the meeting Mr. Kumar said that most of the glitches in filling procedure have been flagged and 80% of those will be resolved by 30th of next month in a time bound manner.

He further added that the group will meet every 15 days to review the progress achieved in the of glitches faced by tax payers in registration,migration and in filling tax returns .

He informed that next meeting will be held in the first week of next month. Speaking about the portal supporting online GST Services he said it is World’s biggest network that has handled 22 crore invoices in the last two and a half months.

He also said 23.18 lakhs new dealers registered under GST apart from those who migrated to GST from old taxation system another 11 lakh dealers have registered under composition scheme. He said the number of dealers registered under GST has soared to 85 lakhs.

Revenue Secretary Hansmukh Adhia clarified that as far as filling of GSTR-3B returns are concerned there will not be extension of deadline after December .
