IPL-08 : Russel Helps Kolkata Knight Riders To Snatch Game Away From KIXP , Register Second win

Andre Russel’s 66 off 36 ball guided Kolkata Knight Riders to register their second win in three games convincingly in the Indian Premier League at the Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium Pune on Saturday. KKR defeated Kings XI Ounjab by 4 Wickets 13 balls to spare .

KKR chasing the target of 156 set by Kings XI , struggled from the beginning and lost five wickets in 7.5 overs when the score was 60.

However, Andre Russel and Yusuf Pathan duo played gritty innings and changed the complexion of the game to bring their team home.

Russel who brought for him self first IPL fifty , was the top scorer with his breathtaking 66 runs .

Russel who wanted to finish off the game in style with required one run, was got out off Mitchel Johnson .

Russel was adjudged as man of the match .

Yusuf Pathan made second highest score with 28 off 24 balls . While Surya Kumar Yadav made 23 runs , Robin Uthapa scored 13 , Captain Goutam Gambhir 11, Manish Pande scored 12 runs .

For KXIP , Sandeep Sharma was most successful bowler . He bagged four wickets , while Thisara Perera and Johnson took one wicket each.

Earlier winning toss, Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and opted to Field .

Batting first, Kings XI Punjab scored 155/9 against Kolkata Knight Riders .

Skipper George Bailey (60; 45b, 5×4, 2×6) was the top scorer, followed by Glenn Maxwell with 33. .

Umesh Yadav (3-33) was the most successful KKR bowler.
