Judiciary Should Not Get Polluted : Rajinikanth

Common people and politicians could change their ways if they get misled. But the damage caused by judiciary could not be restored, according to Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth.

Participating at the centenary celebrations of former Supreme Court Justice P S Kailasam here last evening, he said ”judicial system is the last resort for people. Efforts should be taken to make sure that it does not get polluted, as it will spread across the nation”.

On his association with the Kailasam family, Rajinikanth said ”I was first invited to meet the Kailasams in their house in 1970 and the association continues till now.”

He recalled his discussions around spirituality with writer and orator Soundara Kailasam, wife of Justice Kailasam. ”I once asked her how she gained such in-depth knowledge to which she replied it was from her husband who was her guru, he said.

Madras High Court Chief Justice S K Kaul released a commemorative stamp on Justice P S Kailasam during his birth centenary celebrations and Rajinikanth received the first copy. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Kaul called for appointment of independent, fearless people as judges.

He said judge should be appointed irrespective of caste, community and language. If that is done, the system will evolve for the better, he said, while urging the public not to lose their faith in judges and the judiciary.
