Mayawati appoints brother Anand as BSP vice-president,says open to ties with other parties against BJP

Bahujan Samaj Party Supremo Mayawati Friday appointed her brother Anand Kumar as the party-Vice President.

The official announcement regarding this was made during a party function held on the occasion of birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar in Lucknow.

He has not even been a primary member of the BSP but has been empowered by the party chief to carry out party activities in her absence.

Sri Kumar has been facing an Income-Tax and Enforcement Directorate inquiry for his alleged links with bogus companies.

Kumar has been appointed on the new post on condition that he will never become MP, MLA or CM..

SP chief Mayawati said that she has no reservations in shaking hands with other parties in her struggle against Bhartiya Janata Party on the issue of EVM tampering in the recent Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

She was addressing a gathering after paying floral tributes to Baba Saheb Dr BR Ambedkar on his birth anniversary at Lucknow.

This was the first programme of the Bahujan Samaj Party after a dismal show in the recent Assembly elections. Mayawati, in a major announcement, also appointed her brother Anand Kumar as party’s vice president on the condition that he will never become MP, MLA, minister or chief minister.

The BSP chief said, she is being targeted under a conspiracy by BJP so that she stop speaking on the EVM tampering issue Uttar Pradesh Chief Minsiter Yogi Adityanath has ordered an inquiry into the Mayawati-led BSP government’s decision to sell 21 state sugar mills for at a low price in 2010-2011.
