Nagaland CM proves his majority in Assembly

Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang has proved his majority in the Assembly. 47 members voted in favour of Zeliang while 11 voted against him.

A Special Session of Nagaland Legislative Assembly was convened today for Zeliang to prove his majority on the Floor of the Assembly. He was appointed Chief Minister of Nagaland on Wednesday.

When the house assembled in the morning the Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Dr. Imtiwabang Aier invited Chief Minister T R Zeliang to move the motion of confidence in the House.

After hours of debate on the motion moved by the Chief Minister, the Speaker called the members to vote which went in favour of Zeliang. The Speaker later adjourned the house sine die.

Zeliang is being appointed as Chief Minister for the second time under the third term of the NPF-led Democratic Alliance government.
