Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Paris tonight, in the first leg of the three nations tour of France, Germany and Canada. He will hold talks with French President Francois Hollande tomorrow, Friday.
Investments, civil nuclear energy, infrastructure, Defence, space programme and smart city projects will dominate the Prime Minister’s agenda during his three-day visit to France.
Ahead of Prime Minister’s visit to France, top business leaders from both the countries met Thursday in Paris under the aegis of India-France CEO Forum. The Indian side was led by Dhruv Sahaney and included CEOs of some large business houses in India like Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, Bharati Telecom, Essar and Bharat Forge. Paul Harmeline led the French side.
The Forum is one of the institutional arrangements between the two countries for promotion of trade and investments. In recent years, France has emerged as the 9th largest investor in India with a presence of about 1000 companies. Indian investment in France is also picking up.
Although the official version on deliberations of the Forum is not out, it is understood that the Forum took stock of current level of economic cooperation and discussed ways to take it forward.
The deliberations of the India-France CEO Forum will be presented by the Co-chairs jointly to the President of France and Indian Prime Minister tomorrow Friday . The deliberations of the Forum are being considered importance against the background of a strong economic agenda for the visit of Prime Minister Modi.
On the second leg of his visit, the Prime Minister will reach the German city of Hannover on Sunday. Modi will reach Canadian capital Ottawa on Tuesday on the final leg of his visit.
