The number of people killed in the massive earthquake in Nepal has reached 5,057 with more than 8000 injured.
In an interview to a news agency, Prime Minister of Nepal, Sushil Koirala however, expressed his apprehension that the death toll could reach ten thousand as information from the affected remote villages is yet to come.
Meanwhile, Indian rescuers continued their unrelenting efforts to rescue people in quake-hit country for the fourth straight day on Tuesday. India is providing relief and rescue assistance under Operation Maitri.
Defence teams are flying to far-flung areas such as Gorkha district where the epicentre of the devastating earthquake was located.
