Communication and IT Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad Monday held UPA government responsible for the poor financial condition of the two public sector telecom giants, MTNL and BSNL.
Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Prasad said BSNL and MTNL were profit-making companies in the earlier NDA government.
He said in the ten-year rule of the UPA government, both the firms have suffered heavy losses. He reiterated that his government is committed for the revival of the telecom giants.
The minister asked Shiv Sena MP Arvind Savant to withdraw his dharna in Parliament premises demanding the revival of BSNL and MTNL. Later, the agitating MP withdrew his dharna.
