Sharad Yadav faction of the JD(U) today filed a fresh claim before the Election Commission for the party’s symbol and sought four weeks’ time to submit relevant documents. On Tuesday, the Commission had refused to take cognizance of Yadav faction’s previous plea citing lack of documents to support its assertion.
Rebel JD(U) leader Arun Shrivastav told media in New Delhi that the party’s national executive will meet in New Delhi on Sunday which will show Yadav’s support in the JD(U).
After opposing JD(U) President and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s move to break alliance with RJD and join hands with the BJP, Sharad Yadav had approached the poll panel claiming that he represented the real JD(U) and staked claim for party’s symbol.
