Task force for speedy implementation of Namami Gange projects: Gadkari

Union Water Resources River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Minister Nitin Gadkari today said he will soon set up a task force for speedy implementation of various ongoing programmes of the Ministry.

Speaking to media persons after taking charge, Gadkari said the task force would be formed between his Ministry and the Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation headed by Uma Bharti.He said his government was working with a strong political will and he hoped that the impossible work to clean Ganga will be completed in a time bound manner.

Praising his predecessor Ms Bharti, Gadkari said, “In three years she had almost completed big projects. The responsibility given by the Prime Minister and the work started by Umaji, I hope I will complete them”.

He said, “She most of the programmes of the Ministry have taken a sound shape and about to take off within no time.”Gadkari said various other Ministries like Drinking Water and Sanitation, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and Urban Development have to work together to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted upon by the Prime Minister.

He said he would work for a corruption free and transparent system in the Ministry with the help of every one. Speaking on the occasion Ms Bharti said, she started the work and it would be completed by Gadkari.

She also expressed the hope that Gadkari would be able to execute her unfulfilled task with great dedication.

Dr Satya Pal Singh also assumed the charge of Minster of State for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.

On the occasion, Dr Singh thanked Modi for assigning him this new responsibility and expressed the hope that he will try his best to fulfill the responsibility given to him.
